Job brief 

At Callhounds Global, we are looking for an Engineering Supervisor to oversee a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have experience managing engineering projects, as well as a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering. They will be responsible for supervising the team, assigning tasks, and ensuring that projects are completed according to specifications. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed.

 Engineering Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the work of a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff
• Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard
• Monitor progress and quality of work, and provide feedback and direction to team members
• Liaise with other departments, managers, and clients as necessary
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members
• Identify training and development needs within the team and arrange for appropriate training to be delivered
• Keep up to date with developments in engineering and technology
• Plan and implement changes, improvements, and new initiatives
• Write reports and documentation
• Investigate potential problems and recommend solutions
• Attend meetings, conferences, and networking events
• Supervise the work of contractors and consultants

 Engineering Supervisor Skills and Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
• 10+ years experience in an engineering role, with 5+ years in a supervisory capacity
• Proven track record of successful project management from conception to completion
• Working knowledge of relevant software programs, including AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, etc.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Master’s degree in engineering
• PE license
• 15+ years experience in an engineering role
• Experience working in a unionized environment
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
