Job brief

At Callhounds Global, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Officer to join our team. The engineering officer will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of engineering projects. He/she will also be responsible for the supervision of engineering staff and the coordination of engineering activities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, and a professional engineering license. He/she must also be able to effectively communicate with other departments within the company.

 

 

Engineering Officer Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the engineering department head, managing and developing a team of engineers
  • Oversee all engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard
  • Liaise with other departments, clients, and contractors to ensure the smooth running of engineering operations
  • Develop and implement engineering policies, procedures, and standards
  • Undertake feasibility studies for new engineering projects
  • Prepare reports and proposals for senior management and clients
  • Manage the procurement of materials and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Keep up to date with technological developments
  • Supervise the installation and commissioning of new systems
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and undertake root cause analysis
  • Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and clients

Engineering Officer Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably with a focus on mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 5+ years experience in an engineering role, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams of engineers
  • Working knowledge of relevant software programs, including AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer, and SolidWorks
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • 10+ years experience in an engineering role
  • PE license
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
